If you are experiencing transmission problems on 1992 or later year models, these are vehicles equipped with an electric transmission. In order to properly diagnose these vehicles a scanning tool must be used to download the computer for transmission codes as well as monitor, watch, and check certain system operations.
Ask the shop you are doing business with if they use these tools, and, if so, ask to observe the vehicle being diagnosed so you know. If they do not use scanner tools, this can cost you a lot of money!
